Texas Rangers is a 2001 drama of USA / Western directed by Steve Miner. This is a group of Texas Rangers, who in the post-Civil War, rated PG-13.
Plot :

Ten years after the Civil War, Texas Governor asks Leander McNelly (Dylan McDermott) and recommission Rangers to help maintain law along the Mexican border. With the exception of a couple of experienced veterans, the recruits are young men who have little or no experience with firearms, or the criminal police. Antagonist of the story is John King Fisher (Alfred Molina), who is stealing herds of cattle in Texas as Richard dukes, barons, and Victor Logan and driving them to Mexico, where it sells them to the Mexican army.


When McNelly and his men continue to Fisher for a while ', they fall into the trap, they are killing many young and poorly trained rangers. Abandoned and low morale, the men fall back on Ranch House and try to set an ambush Fisher. After being double-crossed by a woman (perhaps unintentionally), Rangers are a step behind Fisher and her husband. Two Rangers Follow Fisher and her husband, the Mexican border, where they are waiting for another company. When the Ranger force everything arrives, they plan the final attack. In the final gun slinging showdown, Rangers in front of Fisher and her husband, a state or the tip of the border with the direction of a justice or chaos.

Production :

The film source was the book Taming of Neuces Strip: The Story of McNelly Rangers by George Durham.
The film is loosely based on the activities of Leander H. McNelly's Special Force and the Texas Rangers, but it takes a lot of freedom in the historical record (McNelly is dying of tuberculosis as soon as the culmination of the activities, when in real life was a Rangers retired last year, John King Fisher actually did not kill the Rangers, but agree with them).
Although filmed in 1999, was not released until 2001.

Reception :
Texas Rangers has been widely discredited by critics, getting a 2% "rotten" rating on Rotten Tomatoes and the worst of the worst list.
