Planned to begin at high afternoon Saturday, Jan. 1, the annual New Season's drop down at Parksville Bay has become a well-known custom in these components.
“Last season, between 80 and 100 people of all age range took aspect in the occurrence with at least another hundred or so associates, family members and visitors existing to provide support, applause, and perhaps a heated, dry bath towel at the end,” said Porteous.
Because the safety of the bathers is critical, she contributes, members of the Arrowsmith Search and Save water rescue group will also be in the water to provide support — along with support — for anyone who may get into problems.
Hot drinks and treats will be available on a gift time frame.
Firefighters and first responders from the Parksville Fire place Office will also be present to offer any necessary specialist aid on beach.
“With security in ideas, members in the switch are being recommended to be thorough of their alcohol the evening hours hours before the switch, and you should have a bathtub bath towel, to take a location on while changing into warmed, dry outfits.”
